King Co. Council Looking to Stem the Tide of Human Trafficking
KOMO 4 News — May 29th, 2012
SEATTLE — Human trafficking is one of the fastest growing criminal industries in the world, and it’s becoming a very serious issue in King County.
Members of the King County Council are now launching a public awareness campaign aimed at stamping out the horrific crime.
The goal, according to Councilman Reagan Dunn, is larger than simply catching and prosecuting the criminals. Dunn said educating the public, as well as county bus drivers, is needed to stop human trafficking in the area.
“This crime is probably the most under reported and least understood crimes happening today in the city of Seattle or anywhere in King County,” Dunn said.
